The Booneville Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the University of Central Arkansas Center for Community and Economic Development are hosing a Poverty Simulation on September 17, 2019 at the Family Life Center of the First Baptist Church from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
This simulation is not a game, but rather an experiential setting that allows participants to view poverty from different angles. The Poverty Simulation is intended to move participants to think about the harsh realities of poverty and to talk about how communities can address the problem. The simulation is a unique, interactive experience that helps people begin to understand what life is like with a shortage of money and an abundance of stress. We encourage local community leaders to participate to better understand the realities of poverty that affects our community.
This simulation will bring diverse people together to offer a forum for conversation about poverty.
