About Booneville Extension Homemaker Club

Booneville AR Extension Homemakers Club: Empowering Families Through Education and Service in Logan County

The Booneville AR Extension Homemakers Club, ), is a local chapter of the Arkansas Extension Homemakers Council (AEHC), part of the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture Cooperative Extension Service. Established in Booneville on December 13, 2014, this club builds on the AEHC's century-long legacy (founded in 1912 as Home Demonstration Clubs) by empowering individuals and families through informal education in Family and Consumer Sciences, leadership development, and community service.

The club's mission aligns with statewide goals: to strengthen families and communities via continuing education, skill-building, and volunteer efforts. Members learn practical life skills—such as money management, nutrition, health and wellness, personal development, food preservation, crafting, and more—while fostering friendships, leadership opportunities, and meaningful contributions to Booneville and southern Logan County. Open to everyone regardless of background, the club emphasizes inclusivity, fun connections, and giving back through projects that enhance quality of life.

As part of the broader Arkansas Extension Homemakers network (with over 3,200 members and 320+ clubs statewide), the Booneville group collaborates with the Logan County Cooperative Extension Service office at 366 N Broadway Ave, Booneville, AR 72927 (phone: 479-675-3429 or 479-675-2787 for inquiries). This partnership delivers research-based, non-formal education tailored to local needs, helping residents improve economics, well-being, and daily living in rural Arkansas.
Visit the Facebook page to check out updates, event announcements, photos of activities, and ways to get involved. From there you can find out about the club's role in local volunteerism— including service projects, workshops, fundraisers, or seasonal initiatives—while connecting members to statewide resources like leadership training and awareness months (e.g., Extension Homemakers Month in May).

In Booneville—a historic town founded in 1828, surrounded by the Ouachita Mountains, Mount Magazine State Park, and a strong sense of community—the club complements anchors like schools, youth programs, health services, and local businesses. It provides a welcoming space for women (and allies) to learn, lead, and serve, addressing rural challenges with practical knowledge and neighborly support.
For more information or to join, contact the Logan County Extension office or message the Facebook page directly. The statewide AEHC site (uaex.uada.edu/life-skills-wellness/extension-homemakers) offers details on similar clubs and opportunities. In South Logan County, where tradition meets forward-thinking community efforts, the Booneville AR Extension Homemakers Club continues to nurture strong families, develop leaders, and make a positive impact—one educational session and volunteer act at a time.
